Ministries We Support

At Trenton Wesleyan Church, we believe supporting ministry partners is an extension of our mission to share God’s love beyond our walls. Scripture calls us to make disciples of all nations and care for those in need. Through the ministries we support, we help spread the hope and love of Jesus locally and globally.

The Schmitz Family in Nicaragua

Ryan and Sarah have been long-term missionaries with Global Partners in Nicaragua since 2011. Ryan and Sarah have four kids that they have enjoyed raising in Nicaragua, each with their own gifts and talents that the Lord has used in incredible ways in both Nicaragua and beyond. They serve the Nicaraguan church by working with church plants and schools, and by hosting short-term mission teams in order for individuals, families, and communities to learn more about Christ and experi-ence His redemptive power. They build relationships with Nicaraguans through mentoring, community development, ministries of compassion, creating opportunities for Nicaraguan missions teams, as well as reaching out to elementary and high school students and their families with the hope of Jesus.

Wesleyan Church Planting

Other than revival services, characterized by the miraculous activities of the Holy Spirit, THE most effective form of reaching lost people for Christ is church planting.  The launch of a new and dynamic church in a community inevitably draws both existing believers, but surprisingly almost 50% of the new attendees come from those who were formerly unchurched.

On average, new, culturally relevant church planting efforts result in greater numbers of conversions, baptisms, and engaging people in ministry efforts, than do older, and more established churches.  Church plants grow faster, are more adaptable and responsive to changes in the local community, than are older congregations.

The Wesleyan denomination is committed to launching hundreds of new churches across Canada and Maine, especially in those communities that are presently underserviced by gospel preaching and culturally relevant Christian churches.
